Unable to play ANY DVDs - Commercial, Own Authored, DVD Recd

Hi people - as per topic. Any help appreciated. Tried VLC, Media Player and ACER Proprietry App on W7. Have another system XP same issue, but happy to resolve W7 first if possible. What I have tried to run down in search hasn't helped me.

I don't understand the question, sorry.

Do you mean files (eg avi) playable on any of the media player apps I have loaded in my system as mentioned in OP? If so, then yes, these do play.

With loading DVDs, the drive does recognise any files on the disc. Shows as empty in all player apps on both W7 and XP. Caddy drive continually hunts the discs looking for data.
