Netflix Avengers DVD crashes VLC 2.0.3 Win XP

Netflix DVD = Avengers crashes my VLC 2.0.3 every time before there is any response from the application. VLC just quits without an error message. Have uninstalled and reinstalled, cleared cache and deleted dvdcss folder and vlc folder. VLC has recently played other Netflix DVDs and will play audio CDs. I have no other movies on DVD to test with right now. Saw a bug report on <http://trac.videolan.org/vlc/ticket/7518#comment:1> where another user experience the same issue. He was blown off from the VLC site and referred here. I did not find the post here. Advice?

Deactivate menu when opening this DVD, or try 2.0.4

Thank You. Before posting here, I tried to locate a windows version of 2.0.4 but was unable to do so. Has anyone a link?
Also, I was not able to discover how to deactivate the menu. May I have instructions on how to do so?
Thank you very much for your help.

insert dvd, bypass autoplay (if it comes up)
and then go to media > open disc and select 'no dvd menus'

however, i should mention that even this didn't work for me. i tried raising the caching to 600, changing the output to directx... and nothing changed, same old skipping around.

but then, out of desperation, i tried playing the dvd on my work laptop which has an older version of vlc (1.1.5) and i worked fine.

but i didn't want to watch the avengers on a laptop screen with teeny-tiny speakers.

so, i got the older version of vlc from oldapps.com.

movie works fine now.

i hope this helps.

good luck

VLC 2.0.4 should fix this.

Thanks stupid_admins, I'll look into older versions. It may be interesting to note that I finally got the movie (Avengers) to play on Media Player Classic. It's a pretty plain player, but it worked.

Hello vlc developer team,

here on my maschine Avengers R1 DVD also crashes after loading the dvd and before starting to play the menu. Have 2.0.4 installed. Also though i'm quite happy with VLC for years, the loading time of the dvd structure is hitting the 10 minute scale (even with "starting directly with menu" enabled)...

Hi, mbaker.
As for me, I am testing the related
.net barcode generator these days. Do you have any ideas about it? Or any good suggestion? I am totally a green hand on barcode generating field. Any suggestion will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Best regards,
Arron
