VLC 2.0.x seek bar realtime updating missing

It is nice that I can use VLC to watch the movie while recording it, but I noticed that VLC does not anymore update the seek bar while the length of the movie is increasing. Instead VLC players starting maybe from version 2.x.x just have a fixed time on the seek bar defined by the length of the video file at the time it was opened on the player. Last time I recall seeing the real-time updating of the seek bar in VLC version 1.11.

Please, could you bring back this function.

I'd appreciate this a lot too. I use VLC to play all of my TV recordings and it used to be so nice to be able to jump about freely when watching a recording that was still in progress.

A Standard Transport stream recorded from ForTheRecord, now Argus TV Scheduler

it doesn't seem to matter if it is a MPEG2 SD stream or an or H264 HD stream

Then maybe it's not change in VLC but a change in FTR. . . I'll ask there too as it did used to update whilst recording was in progress, thanks!
