WMV is distorted/pixelated in VLC everytime I play a video

As topic title says, whenever I open a WMV video (Mainly HD), the picture appears to be distorted/pixelated for a few seconds, and also when fast forwarding, but after a few seconds it sorts itself out. MP4 videos seem to be very smooth and I can fast forward perfectly.

Windows Media Player's playback for WMV files is perfect (as expected), but the picture looks crap compared to when it's in VLC, so I don't want to revert back to using WMP.

Any help appreciated. Is there some sort of setting I need to use for WMV? Not a major issue, but it's annoying everytime I play a WMV file.

Thanks

You cannot do much, except wait for us to fix it.

Thanks, glad it's nothing to do with my settings/videos.

Are you referring to a local file or a stream on the Internet somewhere? If the latter, please post the link to it.

I have one .wmv file locally on my system which plays without a problem.

I think VLC is not efficient in certain formats. I notice this problem in slower device. When I moved to a faster device, this problem disappear or reduced.
