pictures

hi, i am very new to vlc.
my son installed it on my laptop, to view my grandchildren , videos and pictures, but when i go to open a picture it is on its side and i cannot rotate it,
can anyone please help,in simple terms please, thank you

If video is playing on its side...
Do this...
Tools > Effects and Filters > Video Effects > Geometry > Transform > Rotate by .. degrees

While VLC can open a picture, it is really a very secondary function. Everything in VLC is geared toward video and audio.

I would give Irfanview a shot. It is geared toward pictures, but does play videos as a secondary function.

thank you ,i will try that, but this is not a video, some of them are still pictures,and when i open them in vlc thy are on their side,
