Streaming Problem (only XP not Win7)

Postby Dave-C » 16 Aug 2012 15:32

Hello VLC Team !

I got a Problem with streaming from my Dreambox 8000 Receiver to my PC.

Problem is my stream (Livestream especially, recorded streams not so much) simply freezes/stops, and I just can't figure out why.
Sometimes it stops after 2minutes, sometimes after a couple of hours.

The weird thing is with Win7 it works flawlessly, i can even stream up to 3HD Streams via WLAN-n for hours.
Using a Lan-Cable under XP it still freezes after some time, only streaming 1SD Stream.

So i tried several steps without success...

Reinstalled my XP, only installing Firefox and VLC ---> still freezes.
Installed a external LAN-Card, thinking the Problem comes from the internal LAN-Adapter ---> still freezes.
Used an external Program (Dreamstream) to stream ---> no freezes (tested 6 hours with 3HD Streams via WLAN-n).

VLC settings are default, only upping the caching to 2000 and enabling the auto-reconnect.

Hopefully someone can help me...

What hardware are you using? Could be the problem is the system itself.
