lagging when playing from nas

Hey
I have the issue that vlc(2.0.1) lags all 5 to 20 seconds when i play a video file from my nas.
When i copy the file to my computer I get about 60mb/s so that shouldn't be the issue. I also changed the buffering to 3000 ms. And other players (powerDVD trial) work without any lags. Is there an option to tell vlc to buffer the whole file and not just bit for bit? The current situation is really annoying.
thanks & regards

Known issue, but I agree it's really annoying.

I also met the lagging issue when playing directly from NAS, but through UPnP, playback is really smooth.
If your NAS has UPnP server, consider using it.

I have the upnp/dlna server activated on my synology nas. It's being displayed in the vlc playlist, but i can't browse nor choose it.
What am I doing wrong? ;-)

Nightly Build of VLC (e.g. http://nightlies.videolan.org/build/win ... 0620-0202/) might help.

Anyway, if you have some problem, please provide the log. (Tools -> Messages verbosity 2)

thanks! nigthly works and plays a smooth stream. :)
The only downside is that it takes some minutes to index the files. But i can definitively live with that.
