VLC keeps updating font cache; how do i stop this. I am using version 1.18 and tried version 1.19 also. Please don't ask me to use the latest version because that version has many issues for me which have not been address;ed (failing to stretch 4;3 videos to 16;9 and Not saving settings like having "sepia" mode and then when clicking next in the playlist it goes back to normal non-sepia). These older versions work great for me apart from the font rebuilding. I am using windows 7 SP1

The patch for this issue was applied in VLC 1.1.10 and later.

1) okay no way to fix this then?

2) What version would people reccomend that doesnt have the "updating font", 4;3 videos not streching to 16;9 and the sepia feature working correctly

The font cache rebuilding issue was fixed on 1.1.10. But I don't know what version invited other issues. So, I cannot recommend any version.

If you use Nightly Build of VLC (vlc-2.0.2), the effects and filters setting will be applied to the next video. I cannot confirm the stretching issue because I don't have such a video.

Okay i got all but one issues sorted. In version 1.1.9 there is no "sepia" option, how can i acheive sepia then? I was thinking eitehr inputting a color code under color threshold or maybe using a number of color/image options to gain the same or similar effects?

I don't know if there are similar effects in VLC 1.1.9.

Anyone else aware of a way to replicate the "sepia" feature in VLC 2.0 and above? Thanks

"Sepia" effect looks like yellowish black and white image. Try "Color extraction" effect with "FFFFxx" value and play with last 2 hex values from 00 to FF, for example "FFFF88". Minimal "Saturation" means B&W. Then you can play with "Brightness", "Contrast", "Gamma".

Thanks for the great tip; i have left it at FFF00; its a bit too yellow; would preffer a little more borwn to it but fiddling around with gamme, contrast and brightness didnt really hlep. It close enough at least until a new version of VLC is released that solved all my issues. Thanks gain guys
