Tried with Windows Command Promt:
Code: Select all
C:\>"Program Files (x86)\VideoLAN\VLC\vlc.exe" --codec dmo
Still, no video
Also, can I set this codec on default for "m2ts" video format? Also, if I use VLC with dmo codec, will the output be in OPen GL?
Because I need Open GL, as said in this thread.
Also, tried with VLC 2.1.1. Video plays the same as with DMO codec and as without.
When I try to take a snapshot it gives me an error:
"Streaming / Transcoding failed:
VLC could not open the encoder."
Also, video plays like this (at some frames it gets normal, but then returns to displaying like this), I don't even know how to describe it in english, texturized (as in Photoshop filter)?

Yes, you can try another video output module but it looks like the DMO feature is broken for now, at least with some versions of Windows. And VLC can't natively play most of interlaced VC-1 content, it's a work in progress.
About the screenshots, it seems that JPG snapshots are broken in v2.0.1 but you can use PNG until it's fixed.

With png snapshot it's only a black screen.
Also, could you tell (in that thread)
what exactly makes OpenGL play video without brightness flickering on a TV?
I have an impression, that with "OpenGL" output the quality of the picture got a little bit worsened... but at least gamma/brightness is stable.
Also, MPC with Haali rendered transcodes (is it a right word here?) videoframes without brightness flickering too.

As stated before, VLC can't natively play most of interlaced VC-1 content and the DMO feature might be broken.

You suggested to use OpenGL output and you don't know how it fixes the problem?
btw, what is this output thing? How does it differ from the default one?
You're one of VLC developers, right? How can you not know about that!

OMG ALARM!
The video is still not being played well by the latest VLC 2.0.4!
Media Player Classic with k-lite codecs can't properly play audio, it outputs it at 16bit integer, PCM and the sound is intermittent (annoying).
For god's sake, fix this, don't make me turn over to another media players such as KM or Light Alloy!
There's no need to be lazy. If I had knowledge on how to fix it, I'd have done it already!
Here's info about codecs of the aforementioned video:
