VLC 2.01 not hw acc on display2?

Just upgraded from 1.1.9 to 2.0.1, WinXP SP3, 1.8GHz AMD Sempron (correction) HP Pavilion ze2000 laptop, and noticed that
Codec: H264 - MPEG-4 AVC (part 10) (avc1)
files play using hardware acceleration on Screen1(main, 1024x768), but not on Screen2(1680x1050), where it seems to revert to software only decode, maxing out the CPU at 99%, and forcing a powerbutton shutdown - ctrl-alt-del didn't work.
In v1.1.9, on either screen, even in fullscreen, kept CPU utilization below 20%
I couldn't see any new settings which would address acceleration on a per screen basis.
For the moment I've reverted to 1.1.9
Suggestions?

(edited to correct cpu type to single-core)

Belated thanks for the reply.
I chose to wait for 2.0.3, which solves my issue very well, and thanks to all for that, too.
