play speed stays high(er)?!!

i did not yet recognize the real steps to reproduce, but:
When i speeded up the play speed to twice for example and then press play again it occures, that on the next title in the list the play speed is twice again.
When vlc is once in this state, it stays until i restart vlc. In other words it plays then files always from the beginning in twice speed, even if i set down to normal speed the currently playing file. On the next file in playlist it speeds up to twice immediately.
What is the real problem, and how to solve it?
