I installed VLC and now I can only get sound out of the audio jack or HDMI cable when plugged in. No sound out of speakers, for any player of any file type.

I have completely re-installed the drivers, and uninstalled VLC and still the same problem.

Any chance installation altered some files that could cause this?

Known issue which will be fixed in VLC 2.0.2, meanwhile you can use a nightly build (vlc-2.0.0-xxxxxxxx-xxxx is v2.0.2).
