I can echo all of cdurbin's results.
%appdata% is local.
vlc.exe --no-qt-autoload-extension produces a crash.
vlc -Irc creates a running process, not sure how to interact with it...
I set the filedialog-path to C:\\ (following the syntax of the other lines) and received a crash.
during one point I restored the libmediadirs plugin, not sure if that would affect results.

So, how could I reproduce? Block the rights to my User folder?

That's about the only way I can think of. I am a developer myself and if I have a chance and you cannot reproduce the error, I will try to download and compile the sourcecode/help debug it.

Yes Win7.
Here is a list of nearly all of my HKCU reg entries that contain entries redirected to our network server, redacted as "remote_server" below.
There is a corresponding HKU entry for each as well.
If I have a chance, I'll try to set up a virtual machine later this week and manually redirect each back to local to see if I can also identify if any one key is the culprit.

I tried to block the C:\User\jb\Document so I can't access it in explorer, but it doesn't work.

I have a small idea, and I can share a build, if you want.

I'm willing to help in any way I can.

Going to try to get the build environment installed and working today if I have a chance.

uninstall 1.1.0 and install 1.1.1..vlc works.

Thanks!

Excellent! Thank you for your work on this Jean-Baptiste!

As a side note, I enabled OFS (Offline File Sync) for my Documents folder for another project on this laptop and that also resolved the problem once it had a locally cached Documents folder.

Hallo my name is Emil and my system has almost the same problem.
I use VLC in combination with Emule for years now without anny problems.
After the last update to VLC 1.1.0 I got the program terminate window, the letterchache window
and the player starts but there is only one color thats green.

If I start the VLC player by its self only the letter-cache window apears and video is normal.

I think that the letter-cache take to long when VLC is started by the Emule program?
What is this letter-cache doing when I start a Avi movie?

Greetings from Emil,...

Good morning,
I'm the one started this topic.

This morning I've downloaded version 1.1.2. I still got the same problem.

"This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information."
When I click OK, I get the warning VLC.exe is not working. VLC.exe will be closed.

Can someone please help me?

Heya.

Same problem here, and unlike most people, yes I DO have a drawing tablet. I've always used it as my main mouse.

So, what does that mean?

Please help, it's really annoying! I love VLC too!!...

Thanks!!
