Graphic EQ and Preamp problem

Computer reboot doesn't matter. I just open the EQ, choose the settings, keep EQ open and open tools -> preferences... and press Save.

I was just wondering if VLC writes the new EQ values to VLC config files when you save, and if those are written, can you edit them and if they get correctly loaded on next startup. VLC should work as I have earlier told, but because it doesn't happen on your setup, there might a bug or some issue that causes problems.

There is no bug,Its a vlc problem I am not the only one complaining about this.Any other player winamp etc. remember your own settings.

Winamp and other players don't save settings same way as VLC does.

what is going to take for you to understand the problem, you are Wrong on winamp you open the eq ,set it to your liking and your done, you can't do this on vlc. that simple!!

Principle is same, but the technical implementation isn't. The saving works fine in here, that is why we have to figure out why it doesn't work in your computer, before we can fix anything.

I set the eq its sounds great go to use it again and its back to flat.I have done everything you sai even tried it on my laptop.

you still don't understand. try to make a custom eq preset and make it stay and tell me how you did it. I cant acess the vlc file in application data. For now i'll stick with winamp at least it remembers my eq setting not some bs presets like vlc!

Now I figured out what you meant. Yes, the QT4 preset overrides the settings you have stored earlier even when they shouldn't do that. I try to check this out tomorrow.

Yep, there isn't any code in QT4 interface that would load values from equalizer-bands, so the QT4 interface just uses Presets. The code modification should be pretty easy (one could e.g. modify Equalizer::createValuesFromPreset to check if equalizer-bands contains something, and then use those values instead), but I don't have working environment ATM so I cannot fix this. Also there were some rumors that someone is rewriting the EQ (to allow Preset loading and saving etc.) so I try to figure out what is the situation.
