DJ: Whow! That was neat! Fortunately I have the day off today, so could take my time in following your instructions.

First: The file we are looking for was not one of the 4 unsigned files identified for my system.

Second: I was able to successfully register the file. The RegSvr32 message read, "Dll Register Server in C:/Windows/System32/wmadmod.dll succeeded.

Now what ? :D

Try using it???

If it still does not work at this point I would dump WMP 11 and go back to WMP 10. Or complain to Microsoft! Your choice!

DJ: Still no sound in the playback of the WMV9 HD files. Who really needs WMV9 HD playback anyway! I can get along just fine without it :D There is more material available in the .264 HD format. WMP 11 works great for me in all other respects-- more fun features in the music area than WMP 10.

Many thanks for helping me isolate the source of the problem-- definetly related to the WMP 11 Beta installation. I sure learned a lot by going through the procedures.

Thanks!
