How is that surprising since that's an hidden VLC insidefine, that’s almost the same I am observing. And almost same pattern with 5k player.
If that's AV1 >= 4K or any other codec 8K, that's CPU decoded.Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-8265U CPU @ 1.60GHz (8 CPUs), ~1.8GHz
Content is 10-Bit 60 fps AV1.The downloaded 4k-Youtube-Video "COSTA RICA IN 4K 60fps HDR (ULTRA HD).mp4" start and play for some Secounds, bevor the Image stand and the Audio plays alone.
I tested with "D3D9 Output" in VLC-Player 3.0.11 (64-Bit) and got 100% CPU-Power with 15% GPU-usage.

Content is 10-Bit 60 fps AV1.
I highly doubt even 8 full cores from i7-9700 can achieve this in real time
Same Video or same file ?Hi
Let's focus on issue with AV1 coded mp4 as described in ticket.
As mentioned this same video is playing fine with Movie & TV app in windows10 as soon as you install AV1 extension
