CPU Usage Very High VLC 0.8.5, HD Content (MP4)

Postby mohanaryal » 15 Feb 2007 10:53

Hi,

I am using VLC 0.8.5 on My PC: 3.6Ghz, RAM: 512MB, P4.
I am playing mp4 HD content but it is not going smoothly, i.e. video is showing too slow. If i look on my taskmanager, I found that when cpu utilization goes to 100%, it is being too slow. Is there any provision to minimize cpu utilization.

Thank You

If the HD content is h.264 @ 1080p (a ridiculous notion for monitors under 56") you can try shutting down the loop filter in Preferences FFmpeg options.

Yes the default is NONE or ON. Read it again! All is off.
