Black screen - No picture at all

Postby SilentViruzz » 17 Jan 2007 20:11

Ever since I've been running vista I haven't been able to use vlc at all.
The screen is totally black when I play something and the only time I can get a glimt is when I take a screenshot, and that lasts for 3 seconds and then the screen goes black again.

Any fixes for this?

Thanks in advance.

Last week at CES Bill Gates announced that Vista was the most media friendly operating system to date. I don't believe this for a second after reading peoples comments here and on the doom9 forums. How bout you?

Ciao,

go to Settings >>> Video >>> Output modules >>> enable Advanced options >>> Videooutput-module and select "DirectX Videooutput".

Then it should work, anyway for me with Vista...

Hi had the same Prob, thx for the solution,

anyways I notiecd, GDI Out works also and doen't need Basic Windowing Mode. It also needs less PC performance. So u should give it a try. OpenGL out worked also, but needs even more performance.

Try for yourself what works best for u.

I also noticed that none of the modes enables viewing on 2nd Monitor. Only Primary Monitor seems to be supported under Vista atm. Or I'm doing something badly wrong :D

cheers
