massive cpu usage

Postby davbren » 29 Dec 2006 00:17

VLC is using around 85% cpu average. I'm running a 2.4 Ghz with 768meg ram. Does anyone know what the problem could be?

Play a commercial DVD (not sitting on a menu) and open your Task Manager VLC's CPU usage on your machine should be between 1 or 2% if it's more like other players, 25 to 30% you have lost your AGP or PCIe driver.

What do you mean "lost" it? and how do I "find" it? I've recently installed the agp drivers. This is on a laptop by the way if i dint say before. I'll try and run a dvd coz at the mo I'm running from an external hard drive.
