[debug] vlc hangs, have log file

Postby InlandEmpire » 10 Dec 2006 19:40

Can someone please help debugging a hang with vlc 0.8.5 Janus on Windows XP (SP2):

Basically, vlc hangs after a *long* while - perhaps 2 hours or more - of playing back a video stream (asf in this example). I've posted the back-end of a (-vvv) log over here.

http://paste.ubuntu-nl.org/36277/

Things appear to go downhill after the skins2 error message.(?) The center of the log file, i.e. when things go smoothly, which I've cut out here because of excessive length, reports occasional but regular 'message queue overflows' and single lines of 'recv command start_sequence blabla' among the skipped late picture messages.

Anyway, I'd appreciate if someone could tell me what's going wrong and why..

NOTE: re-posting in Windows forum because a moderator moved it to the Linux section. This post is about the Windows version of vlc, I just happen to post the log file on a site that has ubuntu in its domain name. Moderators, please read carefully, do not presuppose that people don't know what they're doing. Thank you.
