Video all messed up, garbled

Postby f47al1ty » 28 Sep 2006 09:06

Whenever I try and play a video in VLC, it looks like this :

There's no audio either...

Why is it doing it? The video plays fine in WMP, but I hate WMP...

It may be a video memory problem. Try reducing the resolution and or color depth to see if the problem changes.

What codec does the video use.?

And let me just add this.
I too got that kind of garbled screen when I played a DRM'ed video
in VLC player.[For which I didnt have the key].

I dont know if your video has DRM - But,since you are able to play it fine in WMP,there is a chance that WMP has the key stored & therefore able to play the video.

I'm not sure which codec, but it's a WMV.

Plus, it's not a DRM'd file. It plays fine in WMP and WinAmp.
