Audio CD Trouble

Postby mikes » 25 Mar 2006 19:42

Just loaded VLC and everything plays except audio CD's. When right clicking an audio file (.cda) and selecting Open with VLC the file will not play. When selecting an audio cd via File/Open Directory the audio cd is scanned showing all of the tracks but it does not play. Right clicking .wav, .mp3 and avi files and selecting open with VLC works fine. Making VLC the default for audio cd's does not play the cd either. I now get "main error: no suitable access module for `cdda://G:'" after going to MRL and manually selecting proper drive. I have a DVD drive and CD ROM drive. DVD's play fine automatically upon insertion.

What you are suggesting is correct and a known issue. VCD2 disks also play as VCD1

VLC is not recognizing Windows replaceable parameters for these formats.

Open audio CDs or VCDs from within VLC and and everything will work normally (from the "Open Disc..." menu).

There is a trouble ticket on this, so hopefully it will get resolved soon.

What would you suggest as the replaceable parameter in a multi-drive setup?
