Yes, VLC has been broken by commit #15915... this is the risk of using nightly builds
However, this sould be fixed by #15917 & #15918, so the next nightly build should work better.
Or you could also deactivate the buggy feature: Preferences... -> Interface -> check Advanced options -> UNcheck "Collect statistics"
