Hotkey settings bug

But I solved the problem!
VLC has a bug: Ctrl+R doesn't work for recording. But when I changed the key setting to Ctrl+F10 and after saving this setting I pressed these buttons the recording started!

Well I must say that I was wrong: now Ctrl+F10 doesn't work. It seems to me that VLC has a big bug here: I must change key sequence after each restart of VLC.

And one more thing: when I select hotkeys in Preferences menu VLC doesn't show current settings for 7 seconds.

Very funny. If you read this page you'll understand that you should post here about bugs. But I suppose to get some answers: is it a really bug or I do something wrong?

OK, this bug is very interesting: hot key settings for recording work in fullscreen mode only.

I tried a few things last night using VLC 0.8.5 final. It seems that all hot keys are very slow to respond by comparison to prior builds. At first it just seems that the key is not working, but after pounding the keyboard a few times it finally happens. Fortunatly the developers plan rebuilding this section in the future.

Indeed: when I open Hotkeys settings in Preferences/Interface this window "hangs up" for 7-10 seconds.
