VLC process priority

Postby majinsoftware » 13 Apr 2006 17:26

Is there any way I can make VLC process priority 2 higher by defult to "High".
Because on my 64bit computer the music stops for a few ms when I open or close explorer windows. Ill be taking a look through the source code later on when I install VS to compile a 64bit version and it would be a help if you could point me to where abouts I can make the changes.

Thanks

Hi majinsoftware

Settings - Preferences - Advanced - check "Increase the priority of the process" - Save and restart.

I need to be 2 higher because it still does it with that because explorer is still higher and makes it happen.

Yes, I would definitely like to see an adjustable option for process priority like winamp does, as I always have to set VLC to run in realtime so that I can do other things and not have minor hitches etc when there's hdd activity, etc etc.

Having a slider to go from "Normal" all the way to "Realtime" would be great.
