how to Scan TV chan and store them ?

Postby Burps » 31 Mar 2006 19:24

Hi

I'm tryng to setup VLC to watch TV from my WinTV PCI card.
I tried some manipulation (and heard that it found channels), but I can't manage to automatically save these channels.

I'm in France (Paris), getting my TV from an antenna. I don't know which settings I need (pal/secam, etc....)
Could someone help me by describing the procedure to store the channels ?
Thx

France should be SECAM from what Google tells me.

well, this seems to be useful once you have discovered the chan, but I'm not there yet :/

My problem is to FIND the channels

VLC was not intended to be a replacement for your TV tuner software. Most of the information can be gained from it, for those who prefer VLC.

Just have a look here : http://www.csa.fr/infos/operateurs/oper ... _sites.php

Find which transmitter are you using. Select channel you want to watch. Pick up the code.

Note : "country code" for France is 33

Enjoy ;)
