Does VLC Player Display DVD Resolution?

Postby chane » 13 Nov 2024 22:40

While my 1080p BD collection has grown large, I still have many movies and TV shows on DVD. I wondered how many of the DVDs might be 720p resolution, rather than the lower 480p.
How can I get VLC player to verify and display this for each DVD I insert?

Also, as 4K is now the broadcast standard, when will VLC player be able to player 1080p BDs as easily as it does DVDs, without having to download, install and configure those library folders?

None. Because the DVD Video specs are 720*576 max for PAL DVDs and 720*480 max for NTSC:
