This only happens on some days, and has continued for a couple of weeks now. When I open the .m3u8 url of a Twitter stream in VLC, the stream doesn't play and a yellow bar goes back and forth on the timeline.
When VLC fails to play the stream, I try ffplay. It usually defaults to the smallest resolution available, and I have to manually select the highest resolution stream. I started experiencing both of these issues (VLC not playing the stream and ffplay defaulting to a low resolution) at the same time, but I can't be sure if there's any correlation there.
