Cannont play mxf-h264 files in VLC player

Postby blackfilmguild » 08 Feb 2020 20:26

I have been having issues playing files in an H264 file wrapped in MXF container. I am using a C300 Mark II and the files that come from this camera are MXF and when I play them in VLC the video is just blinking. I am using version 3.0.8 Vetinari and have disabled hardware acceleration and tried every different type of output combination. I am getting a blinking of the screen without the video actually showing up. The only way I can play the file is if I use one of my non-liniar editors such as Premiere Pro or Resolve. Does anyone have any advice?

I am new and not sure how to attach an image of some of the information.

Thanks in advance!

Please open Tools -> Messages (set Verbosity to 2) before you start the playback, and then paste the full resulting log here or on Pastebin.com if it's too long.

Also upload a short sample of a problematic file to Zippyshare.com (200 MB max) or to WeTransfer.com and then post the link to the file here.

https://wetransfer.com

If needed cut it with DGsplit and read here about how to do it:

100 MB max should be enough.

Tried an MXF file from a Canon camera, with VLC Version 3.0.21 for Windows 64 bit. The sound was more or less ok, I guess, but the video was just a static image. So, the MXF playback issue is still with us.

We need the messages log AND a short sample file.

Please open Tools -> Messages (set Verbosity to 2) before you start the playback, keep the messages window open during the whole process and then paste the full resulting log here or on Pastebin.com or on Justpaste.it if it's too long.

Also upload a short sample of your original problematic file to WeTransfer.com or Disroot.org and then post the link to the file here.
