VLC plays once then won't play again

I am using 3.0.21 and I never used to get any problems until recently. Now, after not using it for a while I can play a dvd once, but after that the same dvd or others too won't play. I have uninstalled/reinstalled and reset the preferences with no luck. Can anyone help please?

Please open Tools -> Messages (set Verbosity to 2) before you start the playback, keep the messages window open during the whole process and then paste the full resulting log here or on Pastebin.com or on Justpaste.it if it's too long.

Thanks, I've followed that, set Verbosity at 2, put the dvd in but as before it's not playing.

You didn't get it, we need the messages log, the report, from the messages window.
Use the Save As button.

There is no messages log in the window, it remains blank...nothing to save

This is not possible, you need to open the messages windows BEFORE you start the playback and to keep it open during the whole process.
