Destination File for Convert/save is not working

I'm using 3.0.20.

Convert/Save is not working. I select a file. I choose to Convert/Save it. The Convert box comes up, and I choose the format I want and the Destination File. However, no matter where I select the converted file to go, the Destination comes up exactly the same as the Source. So, VLC will not convert (apparently), since nothing happens after I click "Start."

Any ideas why this is happening?

I'm not sure to understand what you mean. You can browse to any output folder you want but make sure the destination file has a different name than the source file.
