hey, i have no option to enable or disable audio track

Postby heythereitsme » 22 Jun 2024 18:27

so im trying to screen record with vlc, im doing everything as I should but there is never any audio in my recordings and i think its because i dont have audio track enabled but the thing is, I can't, there's nothing going on when i point at audio track, its just like pale and stuff you know "you can't click here" type stuff. so idk whats going on. please help. I could install it again and take a screenshot of what i see but basically nothing comes up when i point the mouse on it, it says audio track but i cant click on it, its just grayish.

How are you trying to record your screen ?
And do you hear audio when you simply play your source file ? If not then please open Tools -> Messages (set Verbosity to 2) before you start the playback, keep the messages window open during the whole process and then paste the full resulting log here or on Pastebin.com or on Justpaste.it if it's too long.

Also upload a short sample of your original problematic file to WeTransfer.com or Disroot.org and then post the link to the file here.

I don't really understand what you mean but the way I record is by clicking capture device, mode to desktop, convert. then when i finish recording and look at the video, there's just no audio. And I can't enable the audio track on vlc either, and I think that might be related to the issue. it doesnt let me click on it, heres a screenshot

Did you select the correct audio device in the Capture Device tab ?

Desktop screen capture is exactly what it says, so of course there is no audio. You need to select a secondary input, presumably loopback-mode WASAPI.
