Can VLC open DVM or FLC files?

Postby Reykokuna » 29 May 2024 16:48

Hello everyone, happy to have registered on the forum, I would like to ask you for information regarding the peculiarities of the VLC program.
In summary, I recovered some files from inside my DVR, but the files are all in DVM and FLC format, as always, I rely on VLC to open any audio and video format.
This time, trying in vain, I came across these two types of files unknown to me. Searching online I realized that DVM files are video files, while FLC files are audio files.
Is there perhaps a particular extension for VLC to open these types of files?
Since I do everything with VLC, I first want to understand if I will be forced to install other software to be able to do it, but I much prefer VLC regardless.
Thanks in advance, warm greetings.

Please upload a short sample of your original problematic file to WeTransfer.com or Disroot.org and then post the link to the file here.
https://wetransfer.com
https://upload.disroot.org

If needed cut it with DGsplit and read here about how to do it:

200 MB max should be enough but a full complete short file is better.

Thank you for your kind reply, sorry for the delay, I've been busy with work.

I uploaded the file to the second site you indicated:

This + the link https://upload.disroot.org/r/EMyXesLp#E ... aqshVHpNU=

The files are all the same size i.e. approximately 10MB, waiting for your response, thank you in advance.

Looks like this file is a raw H.264 stream but if there are several files I guess they are part of a bigger video. To me it seems to be a protection system so the files can only be played with a proprietary player.
