VLC Player Rotates ALL Videos Not Just One

Postby GFM2735 » 19 May 2024 10:59

Dear all,

I had a video I shot upside down, so I used to usual Tools >Effects and Filters > Video Effects > Geometry > Transform method.

This worked for me before, but this time after applying it, I find that not just the problem video, but every single video I open with VLC is flipped, so previously right side up videos now play upside down, and only the original video I wanted to correct plays right way up.

I have tried to find out why this is so, but without luck. Could anyone offer any suggestions how this happens? I know that you could set preferences for future videos after your initial transformation by going to Preferences > ...> Sout, but I have never done that before.

Best regards!

As long as the rotation filter is enabled it will apply to all videos. Just turn it off.

Good day, what rotation filter do you mean? I don't see that option.

Also, if I understand what that is, for the video I wanted to correct, I didn't want to just apply a filter. I want to actually correct it, so that it opens right way up not just in VLC player, but any other program such as Windows Media Player or Vegas Pro.

The filter you talked about, in the Geometry tab. In case of any doubt then reset the preferences and cache (the manual way) and try again:
