I lack the exact term for what I am looking for but I think the following GIF explains what I mean:
Firefox, Chrome, Edge, Windows-Spotify and other programs seem to be able to inform other running applications about what they are playing. In the upper animation Firefox tells my Wallpaper to display the Youtube-Pictogram for the running song. Wow. So I guess there is some sort of message port my wallpaper and Firefox use to communicate. Strangely this seems to work with a ton of websites, even playing a MP3 directly from my private home page in Firefox using http://example.com/rick.mp3 displays the icon integrated in the MP3 as part of the wallpaper.
Even better, if I play content from a local TV station my wallpaper displays the whole video as part of the wallpaper - without downloading it twice, it simply seems to reuse the video as displayed by Firefox. Interestingly Amazon Prime doesn't work..
If I run VLC then my Wallpaper doesn't see anything to display.
So, is there any plugin for VLC which can add this feature?
