How to play DVD transferred to USB External Hard Disk?

Hi

I want to play a DVD (from my own collection) I transferred to an external USB Hard Drive and I want to play it from the command line, without the GUI

My idea is to make a BAT file with the command line instructions to launch vlc and play the dvd

I've tried some commands, but any of them seems to work, as the BAT file throws me back to desktop without doing anything

So, is it possible to do what I want from command line?

If it's, what should be the command to use?

I think this should work:
VLC.exe dvd:///X:/

where X: is the letter of the DVD drive.

Yes, I know this command line, but it's for a "real" DVD.

You mean the whole DVD structure with VIDEO_TS and its VOB files ?
If so then just use the full path:
VLC.exe dvd:///X:/Path/to/Folder-where-VIDEO_TS-is
