VLC player is not reading my DVD disc drive

Hi
I was having problems with my VLC player on my Windows 10 laptop and decided to re-install the app. Now the VLC player does not even read the DVD drive.

Does anyone have any suggestion as to what can be done to make the VLC player read the disc drive.

Specs: Windows 10, laptop

First, reboot your computer, then reset the preferences and cache (the manual way) and try again:

The VLC player still does not read the DVD drive.

Menu Media -> Open Disc
Then make sure to tick the correct disc option (Audio CD or DVD, etc) in the Disc Selection and the correct drive letter in Disc Device.
