Hello dear developers.
I would like the VLC developers and team to briefly summarize and update the audio, video and stream file formats that were not kept as default after installing VLC Media Player.
Remembering that according to this information and my information, the following programs were installed by default: PotPlayer, Foobar2000, MPC-BE and K-Lite Codec Mega pack, with all stable versions, I installed VLC Media finally and lastly. Player 3.0.21 and VLC 4.0.
I currently use Windows 11, but I haven't found a method to let all files that VLC supports play by default according to the VLC software.
It is worth remembering that in Windows 10, when going into settings and going to the add files tab as default, VLC can be added as default, for audio and video, but in Windows 11 it is actually necessary to click on a file extension to keep it as default playback file.
For this I recommend that the list of file extensions can be updated when checking the installation of VLC 3.0.21 (and future versions) and VLC 4.0.
Simply a simple C language file can generate, read and load all VLC supported files for final playback for each file.
I believe that this cannot be a lot of work in a matter of time to update the format readings, but the information of media files that VLC Media Player plays can be updated, so that we have a good result and can be kept as standard for playback of the final file.
An example of this is that I installed VLC 3.0.21 last and unfortunately it did not keep all the files that VLC plays by default, keeping or respecting the other software that was installed on the machine.
An upgrade of extension information such as E-AC3 and some other audio and video formats can be kept as default after installing VLC Media Player.
If I install software 1, 2, 3, or 4, but install the fifth audio and video playback software, which is VLC, VLC can and does have the right to respect this media format maintenance information ( "has the right", speaking with all due respect of course, great and beloved VLC Media Player, used and used by millions of people around the world).
That's simply it, keeping all the files and format extensions that VLC Media Player can play as default, in case I install VLC as the audio and video player last.
A big hug to all the developers and forward to the big victory.
