VLC crashes when opening files stored on Synology NAS

Postby siper » 14 Feb 2024 18:21

Hey guys,
I'm at my wit's end with this issue. I've got a bunch of mp4's and DVD files on my Synology NAS (which has been mapped as a drive Z: in Windows Explorer). When I simply double-click a file to open in VLC, VLC opens for a brief moment and then crashes.
I've rolled back to previous versions, switched output from Auto to OpenGL, turned off Hardware Decoding, reset preferences, and reinstalled the latest version. no change. Using an NVIDIA RTX 3080 video card and Windows 11.

Any ideas what I need to change in order to get VLC to stop crashing?
