Trying to play a Dvd just gray screen

Postby kust » 02 Mar 2024 16:34

When I try to play a dvd I just get a gray screen. I have tried to turn off hardware acceleration and also change the video output.
I have tried to play the dvd in a dvd player and there it works. It just looks like this https://ibb.co/kh5Z1Q1 with no sound either

The Dvd I am trying to play is Lost season 4 Dvd 1 the other seasons from lost 1 - 3 were working fine.
Could it be that Vlc Is incompatible with this Dvd?

Hmm when I put in the other dvds from season 4 they are just a grey screen aswell but if I put in the season 4 bonus dvd appears to work as I got picture and sound in the dvd menu aswell as I tried a dvd from season 5 where I aswell got to the menu. So it appears to be something with season 4's dvds

Found a solution that works for me

Got the dvd to work by disabling the main menu by going into preferences -> input / codecs -> Acces modules -> Dvd with menus then uncheck start directly in menu
