MOV and YouTube Streaming Are Broken

Having a couple of issues with VLC for quite some time. There haven't been any updates or anything the entire time.

MOV videos won't play. This is making it incredibly difficult to work with quite a few effects assets.

VLC will longer stream YouTube videos. This was also an incredibly useful aspect of VLC.

Other people have had the same issues for quite some time. I've tried all kinds of "fixes". None of them work, including the standard fixes that have worked in the past. No idea what's going on with VLC, but it's currently only useful for watching run of the mill video files. I'm going to have to start looking for an alternative player, if there is one. This is causing some big headaches for video editing, etc.

YouTube breaks everytime Google changes the site.

But MOV is just another name for MP4 and it doesn't just break. Millions of people are playing those files with VLC, no problem. Either you've changed your editor parameters to emit weird unsupported files, or your VLC settings are messed up, or you system (drivers) has a problem.
