Video file with no file extension won't convert

I have a video file I recorded on my Samsung S9 phone that has no file extension. I had to restart the phone to stop recording a few times. I copied the files to my hard drive. For two files, the convert/save function worked. For the third file, it only converted it to 1KB file. The original file is 464,632 KB. What am I doing wrong? Oh, Windows 11 on a Dell PC.

Give it an .MP4 extension but this file is damaged:

Thanks. But how can I give it an MP4 extension? I tried renaming it in WIndows but that doesn't work.

It must work but default Windows setting are hiding known extensions. Change this behaviour in Windows Explorer settings.

Thanks for all the help. I was able to add the extension. All the "free" programs to repair the file all cost like $30 to save the fixed file. NOT worth it for one recorded song.
