rtsp 8 individual instances of VLC.

Postby Flourgrader » 21 Oct 2022 17:58

Hi Experts,
I have video feeds from 8 CCTV cams that I want to open them all at once
in 8 individual instances of VLC. I want to size the windows so I can fit them all on the screen
at once.

This example will open the video feed but I have the sizing wrong, it does not work.
"C:\Program Files\VLC_Media_Player\vlc.exe" "rtsp://192.168.0.49" --width=272 --video-on-top --aspect-ratio=16:9
Exit

I don't know how to open multiple windows?

I have feeds:
rtsp://192.168.0.49 > up to rtsp://192.168.0.57

Could someone please write me an example of
the input code that I would require to achieve my goal?
Thank you.

Hi, there is a bit of a learning curve, but you can try to use the mosaic system

Thank You,chubinou,
for your advice.
I had seen "How to create a Mosaic and display"
As I have never done script before it looked a little bit complicated.
I have been playing around with xxxx.xspf files
By double clicking on the file I get get the file to open with the correct rtsp:// feed.
I edit the file in notepad and set hight and width for the opening window.
It did not open to my size, but it did open to a bigger size.
I have been in advanced settings of vlc and changed the settings from full screen.
No luck yet.
