Audio Sync Issue w/ DVD Rip

Hello! I am not a super user, so please let me know if there is additional detail I should add. I will try to add screenshots if I can. Until now, I have only used VLC for a few niche items. I use it for codec support on some old mpegs and I infrequently use it to rip YouTube help videos for my archive of "how to do stuff."

Recently, I moved towards a PLEX server to stream kids shows across the house. (https://app.plex.tv/) We are down to a single DVD player in the entire house, but every TV has a Roku. So, it makes sense that we transition from rack after rack after rack of kid's DVDs and make them available on a media server. Through several pages deep on Google, VLC is offered as a very reasonable free option for ripping DVDs. I'm not opposed to spending money if I knew it would work, but I'm a little concerned about a problem I'm having with audio sync.

I don't think this next piece is at play here, but I mention it because it was a couple of years' worth of frustration. My media server doesn't have a monitor. I access it through remote desktop on my day-to-day computer. Now for my problem with VLC. My first attempt at ripping a DVD worked great, the 1987 movie Spaceballs. But every movie I've tried since, including the special edition version of Spaceballs that we own, eventually comes out of sync with the audio. I tried, once, with the five-minute version of WinX DVD Ripper. It had a similar problem, which makes me think the problem is PICNIC. If it is, and I can get the help here, I am happy to donate to VLC in recognition of being able to get rid of 100+ DVDs.

I open VLC. I go to Media and then to Convert/Save. I select the Disc Tab. And I leave the settings as default.

(ok I lied, I cant put in pictures) I have disc selection is DVD, no disc menus selected, the disc device is my DVD player and the folder for the video, the starting position of both title and chapter 0, and audios and subtitles are both -1.

Then I hit start and off she goes!

(ok I lied, I cant put in pictures) I have the settings for convert neither display the output nor the interlace is selected, my profile is the default for video H.264+ MP3 (MP4) and then I set the destination to be my local hard drive.

But the audio isn’t synced up like it should. It's not enough off for it to be an entire chapter. Since I was successful with one movie, I'm figuring that there may be something I can do to make it work for the others. But I have failed now with the audio synchronization on six separate DVDs. I think there's something that I'm missing. I hope the folks here may be able to help.
