VLC not resuming DVD playback at last position

Postby jonwil » 07 Jun 2022 14:32

I have VLC (about box says "3.0.16 Vetinari" and "check for updates" finds none) and I have set "continue playback" to "always" in the settings. If I am playing back a DVD (actual physical disk sitting in my DVD drive) and I stop playback, VLC will not resume where I left off when I start playback again. Is there something I am doing wrong or some other way to get VLC to hold the position so I can pick up where I left off? (the DVD is still in the drive and hasn't been ejected between stopping and resuming if that makes a difference)

First of all I suggest you update to the latest version which is 3.0.17.4 https://www.videolan.org/

As regards playback from a specific point in a DVD you can either create a bookmark, or use the option to jump to a specific time (Ctrl + T to launch). You would have had to have made a note of the time beforehand of course.

See the documentation for more options: https://wiki.videolan.org/Documentation:Playback/
