"Your Input Can't Be Opened"

Postby jdubb » 21 May 2022 07:50

I am using Windows10 64Bit, with VLC 3.0.16 Vetinari: I have more than 90 playlist on VLC but recently when I try to play them I get the message"
"VLC is unable to open the MRL 'file///E:/Christian%20Music%20.............................Check The Log For Details"

I have no idea how to access the log or what I should do should I be able to understand the details.

I have created new files since this started and have no problems playing the new files

Please open Tools -> Messages (set Verbosity to 2) before you start the playback, and then paste the full resulting log here or on Pastebin.com if it's too long.

Well, I guess you didn't make a note of the URL which changes after you upload a log to Pastebin. Without that we have no way of knowing where it's located on the Pastebin site.

You should be able to find the link in your browser's History provided you haven't deleted the contents of it. If you have you're only option is to upload the log file again, give it a name and then make a note of the URL when it changes and post that here.

This is not a log file. Follow instructions by Lotesdelere (2nd post) to create one.

Yes, as requested we need the full log, from the very beginning to the very end. No edit.

I thought I followed the directions. What did I do wrong? Please be very specific. I wouldn't call myself computer literate at all.

Well, thanks for your efforts to help. Some people are unteachable. Maybe I'm one of them. Thanks anyway

I have the same problem with one of the files.

Here is the log file.

-- logger module started --
main: one instance mode ENABLED
-- logger module started --
main: one instance mode ENABLED
main: Running vlc with the default interface. Use 'cvlc' to use vlc without interface.
-- logger module stopped --

Can anyone help me with this?
