step backwards / forwards doesnt really work

Hi, when i watch films, and i use the toolbar button 'step back' to skip backward, it doesnt work proper: it jumps tiny bit forward (maybe some tiny seconds), but not back.

When i wanted to skip forwards, it does at most a view seconds forward too, but not really satisfying.

I guess, there might be anywhere in the jungle of adjusmentz a position, where it could be set?
but where ??
can somebody help?

keyboard shortcut

doesnt make sense, because this is a desktop for Video & TV watching only, a keyboard is normaly not or rarely used. (the keyboard is a bit to far to reach)

BUT isnt there anywhere a special setting possibility in the adjustments?

It shows why the previous frame feature is not going to be implemented any time soon in VLC.

and could somebody tell me, where to find the adjustments for length of 'step back' & 'step forward' in the setting? (I still hope, that this is a quest of adjustment!?)

Menu Tools -> Preferences (Show settings = All) -> Interface -> Hotkeys settings
The jump sizes settings are on the right panel
After the changes save the preferences then exit and restart VLC.
