Conversion problems

Postby krn95 » 21 Jul 2020 07:13

Using VLC 3.0.11 Vetinari + Windows 10

Conversion problem #1
I converted 10 .wma files to 10 .mp3 files. It did work, fine!
BUT
when VLC was at the end with file #10, it started again at #1, with a message "the file does exist already" AND it was almost impossible to stop the program!
It has been like that in all the last releases!

Conversion problem #2
Video conversions do not work at all.
I tried with a small file, a music video = .mp4 : I wanted to have an .avi file.
I only got an AUDIO .avi file!
With other formats, it's even worse, I did not get anything...

Any help, thanks in advance!

Click Tools ---> Preferences ---> All (to open the Advanced menu). In the left hand panel click Playlist and then checkmark your choices in the right hand panel.

thanks for your answer
1) i unchecked ALL choices (to be sure) and now, finally, the conversion does not start again, phew!
btw, there are like 15 choices for "playlist" when 2 or 3 would be enough!

2) video problem still open > thanks in advance for any comment

Try converting it using Handbrake: https://handbrake.fr/

I used VLC to add subtitles to my video, it worked. When I run the video in VLC media player it works fine and the sound is correct.
If I open it using example windows media player, there is subtitles and NO sound.
Please help.

I think you'd have to take that up with Microsoft. We don't support their media player here as far as I know.
