Prevent multiple instances?

Hi! I would like to know how to prevent vlc from lauching multiple instances, i.e. when i open a file while playing an other, i want it to open in the existing vlc window instead of lauching an other instance.

N.B. excuse my english, i'm french :P

Hi highmasterc

Settings - Preferences - Advanced - Other - check "Allow only one running instance" - save and restart.
