Will it be updated to support newer versions of VLC like the soon to be released 3.x?

follows the tutorial of the beginning but it is not reproducing the disks
why is the bd support in vlc so complicated?

because AACS LA hates people playing their purchased movies with free software

The dlls found here https://vlc-bluray.whoknowsmy.name/ were updated a few months ago and probably work with VLC 3

Even if the DLLs work, KEYDB.cfg must contain keys for the disc your are trying to play. No keys, no playback

And how do I get the keys?
the blu ray runs even though it's an old model

If you're saying that the keys file at whonkowsmyname doesn't contain a key for a disc of yours, look into FindVUK, which can be used together with DVDFab Passkey to get the keys. I used the FIndVUK method to get the keys for many of my discs which were not in the keys file as provided online.

Take a look here: https://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.ph ... &start=140. There, I'm at the top trying to get my discs to play when my discs weren't in the keys file and you can see my progress throughout that page.
